This was the 36th song recorded for the album. This is one of those songs that starts as a joke and you think “this is a very funny joke” and then you tell the joke at a party and people don’t laugh and they’re like “that’s actually really sad” and you’re like “yeah I guess that is really sad.” No breakup album is complete without the daddy issues song, because what relationship is untouched by the sins of the father? Was thinking a lot about Wake Me Up When September Ends and Whatsername when recording this because of the big loud crescendos. Also Exactly Where I’m At and Transdermal Celebration because of the beginning guitar part and synths in the middle.
